Spotlight Series: Matt Payne

People are our greatest asset. Without them, PC Group wouldn’t be where it is today. To honour those who keep PC Group running, we’ve launched our Spotlight Series. This series will focus on the individual achievements and journeys of key staff members who have made PC Group into what it is today.

Our third spotlight will shine on PC Group’s marketing maven, Matt Payne, or as he’s formally known, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Matt’s Journey

Matt brings a wealth of marketing to PC Group. Starting his career studying Design and Visual Communication at Portsmouth University, the next few years saw him leading large corporate marketing teams, whilst moonlighting as a freelance Marketing Director.

Prior to joining PC Group, Matt was heading up Capita’s Security Watchdog, another leading DBS Umbrella Body, as Head of Marketing. For three years, Matt led their marketing initiatives before the impact of the coronavirus pandemic started to be felt. Matt unfortunately had to move on from Security Watchdog, but their loss was most definitely our gain!

Joining Personnel Checks

Introduced to our Managing Director, Jack Mellor, via a mutual connection in the industry - it became quickly apparent that Matt was going to be a perfect fit for Personnel Checks.

Matt's arrival brought a fresh wave of innovation. He quickly made his mark by rolling out the rebranded TaxiPlus and reshaping Personnel Checks’ online presence.

Under his guidance, the marketing team has thrived, continuously delivering high-quality content and design. His focus on SEO has driven the business to achieve outstanding rankings on Google, making PC Group easily discoverable by customers.

With his team of three, Matt manages the delivery of all marketing for the 4 brands that make up PC Group. His dedication and achievements over the past four years have been pivotal in shaping the group as it exists today!

What’s next?

From corporate life at Capita to becoming a key player in the PC family, Matt's decision to join us was a game-changer. Beyond the technical achievements, Matt has been instrumental in building a strong, cohesive team. His contributions have been vital to the growth journey of PC Group, and with his vision and drive, the company is only just getting started.
