Sustainability Meets Compliance: PC Group Achieves B Corp Status
Blackburn, Lancs: PC Group, one of the UK’s leading screening and compliance organisations has announced today they have achieved B Corp Certification, making them one of the first UK screening organisations to be certified. They join a global community of more than 8000 businesses, all committed to a more sustainable and people-focused future.
PC Group have been certified by B Labs, the non-profit organisation founded in 2006 to combat unsustainable business practices. B Lab creates standards, policies, tools, and programs that help shift the behaviour, culture, and structural underpinnings of capitalism. Their focus is on shifting business governance away from benefiting shareholders in favour of benefitting all stakeholders.
This certification demonstrates that PC Group meet the high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency expected by B Labs. It addresses the entirety of a business’s operations and covers five key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers.
The certification process is rigorous, with applicants required to reach a benchmark score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency.
